I originally had a draft post for an August catch-up but as per usual I never got round to finishing it so I thought screw it lets combine a few of them here.
So we ended up changing estate agents in August as the contract was ending and we felt we weren't getting anywhere with them. We're now with someone else and to be honest hardly anything has changed. More than anything it's been worse. We dropped the price even further and only had about 3 lots of viewings in total. 2 of the viewings were of a couple who viewed the place for a second time. That in itself sounds promising until you find out that they also did the same for a few other houses and it makes it sound less enthusiastic for something to happen.
Lo and behold that was exactly it...nothing happened. They weren't interested and we carry on regardless, and it's been like that ever since.
I don't feel disappointed like I used to, I knew deep down another estate agent wouldn't be any different for us but I'm at the stage now where I'm accepting the ride along, I guess you could say.
I think I also accept that fact that we'll probably end up staying in this house if nothing happens by next year, and we simply carry on with our original plans with what we want to do with the house. It's not ideal but at least we can get on with getting something done next year. I still miss the idea of not having a bigger place, but I also worry with what houses are left and/or demand for where we want it. It's horrible that you have to sell your place before finding the place you want, it's such a big gamble if you limit it somewhat.
If I was an expert at DIY it wouldn't bother me in the slightest, as I'm so limited though I cant do as much with the house as I would like to.
So that was basically most of August with the transistion to another estate agent. Even though September has just left us I can't even remember for the life of me what happened. Hardly much happened except for the decline of the summer and more lockdown procedures taking place with our much loved on-going pandemic.
